Royals win game 6, 3-3 Royals and Giants tied. What a back and forth 2014…
2014 World Series Game 2 Royals
The Kansas City Royals knew that game 2 could have been the deciding game because it seemed like they came out flat in game one. I had predicted the Giants would come out stronger because of the long lay off the Royals had since their last game. I gave the Royals a chance because the next three starting pitchers had losing records for the Giants. The Royals sure took advantage of that as their hitters were just comfortably sitting back on the Giants pitching tonight and put on a good slug fest.
Royals hitters were impressive up and down the line-up and all of them were very aggressive in their swings as nearly half of the 10 hits were for extra base hits. Omar Infante had two of the many extra base hits with a 2 run home run homer that sealed the deal. Infante, Lopez and Lorenzo Cain had additional doubles that led to some more runs. Billy Butler was taking some hacks and had a big game with 2 hits and 2 RBI's.
The way the Royals swung the bat leads me to believe that this series is going 6-7 games. They needed to get their mojo back offensively and answered the call. Their hitters hit airplane line shots all night and whenever you hit half of your hits for extra base hits you are going to win and you are slugging to win.
The Giants did hold their own in this game and had some chances along with 9 hits so it is going to be a dog fight. The team with the most extra base hits will win the 2014 World Series. Right now both MLB teams are near even in that category and they both have offenses who utilize their bodies and back hips in their swing efficiently up and down the line up. My kind of match up!
Here is some is some highlight video of the Royals attack. Are they swinging up hill or downhill? Check out Billy Butler's RBI line drive and post your comment about swing below!
