Kevin Long was Yankees Problem

Old Yankees are Back – Kevin Long was the Problem

by Coach Huber
What have the Yankees changed? Yankees lead the league in slugging and hitting numbers have jumped up to 50 points higher than last few years.  Every year the NY Yankees are amongst the most talented group of baseball players in the MLB. Since they are one of the best organization for producing winning teams you can say their players are always amongst the elite and they are certainly paid the highest. The last few years the Yankees have struggled offensively even with a star studded line up. They have been one of the bottom ten teams offensively since 2013, but [...]

Kansas City Royals Team Review 2014

Kansas City Royals and Moneyball Hitting Formula The Kansas City Royals went a different route to the Moneyball hitting formula than most championship teams. They had 8 hitters in the line-up that were not star hitters but they were all good role players. The Moneyball hitting formula states that you need at least 4 star hitters in the line-up and 4 role players. The Royals had 8 good hitting Royals players during the 2014 season which ranked them 4th in hitting in 2014. Good enough to squeeze into the 2014 playoffs until the hitters exploded in the 2014 playoffs and [...]

St. Louis Cardinals 2014 Season Review

St. Louis Cardinals Team Review In this video, Lead columnist and Hitting Specialist Coach Mike Huber breaks down the 2014 St. Louis Cardinals Season. From an offensive standpoint he thinks they are in real trouble as they went from first to worst in scoring runs per game all in one year. Mike thinks this is a huge clue that something fishy is going on with the Cardinal hitting coaches and they tried to make some wholesale changes this past year, philosophically, and it backfired. Big time! Mike shares his views as to what he believe happened, how it can potentially get worse, [...]

Giants: Posey, Sandoval, Ishikwa

by Coach Huber
Pay Close Attention to the Swing  The San Francisco Giants are officially a dynasty and now it is time to put them on the watch list and learn. Offensively they are more than adequate and were ranked in the top 15 in hitting this year. They have hit well in the playoffs also.  They are tops in the National League and have predominately out slugged their opponents when it comes to extra base hits (although the Cardinals went neck and neck with them). The thing to watch for is that the majority of their hitters swing up hill and are [...]

MLB Cardinals – What has Changed?

by Coach Huber
MLB Cardinals 2014 Season vs Playoffs MLB Cardinals are hitting home runs and extra base hits like it is going out of style and very few recognize that this has not been the type of ball club they were this year, 2014. They were a base-hitting , low-scoring, 4-5 hit per game team who barely made the 2014 playoffs because of great pitching and defense. Before the 2014 playoffs began, Mike Matheny was quoted as saying that "all they need to do is keep doing what they were doing the whole year." My personal reaction to that was, "Are you crazy!?" [...]
